Those that know me best know that when I was all but 12 years of age, I was a serious kid who began writing poetry. By 19, I was a very serious college sophomore that poured himself into the page and did an occasional poetry reading. Bottom line, that kid in me was preparing me for what I face now: the responsibilities of adulthood. Making things hard on myself as a kid has prepared me for the challenges I face today. I knew that small town life was easier but I also knew I would not be sticking around there. As I look back on the past and my works of poetry, I begin to appreciate that kid in me more and more. For all the lovely mistakes that kid made, there were successes that my adult self benefits from today.

The Kid In Me
Those that know me best know that when I was all but 12 years of age, I was a serious kid who began writing poetry.
