Poem #3
Fade To Shadow
Life.
A blessing to those
who embrace it
and race to their dreams
conquering any doubt about
that.
A match.
It strikes to ignite a
flame.
Sometimes the effort, the
madness,
your desire to succeed burns
short
only to extinguish to smoke.
The reflection.
Define the face
you see in the mirror.
Is it spotless, homemade
with pride
or maybe scratched and
tainted
beyond the naked eye?
Found to be lost
or lost to be found.
The seconds' hand ticks away
and you cannot stop it
unless you find your way.
Release.
Extend the boundaries
of your personality.
Don't whither and stress
in limited identity.
Open your eyes
and begin looking
into yourself:
Recognize that shadow
and fade.
