Today's Poem: "Dreams Never Die" from November 1997

Another great poem that has aged well. I used the Circle of Life theme to bring this poem alive. I like to think sometimes that a poem has a soundtrack and so that song from The Lion King is on the soundtrack to this poem.

"Full Force" Poem #5:  The Finale

Dreams Never Die

Millennia have passed
Stars born and died again.
Every dream remains alive
With pieces of life born again.

In the eyes of a newborn
Lies a desire to grow.
To learn of the world around it
Grasp all forces in control.

Bushy haired toddler lies in a sandbox
Grains of mineral gather in mane.
Wishes of fun and joy
Gather in his tiny veins.

Young teen not confused but doubted
Parent's love wants to be the guide.
His dreams he must follow
To solidify his own pride.

College world has opened its gate
Entry to the beginnings of a man.
Thought-out aspirations rattle in his mind
Molded into a legit plan.

A father stands over his children
Wife snuggled beside in secure arms.
Their hopes jump rope and wrestle before them,
Products of passionate love and charms.

An elderly couple inspects the night sky,
Wool plaid blanket keeps them warm.
Smaller sparkling glimmer appears from afar
As their first grandchild is born.
